I hope they resume hiring soon for all the ones being furloughed and I would like to get back to the west coast. I commute coast to coast to fly the Q400 out of EWR. I'm ready for SEA or PDX. Good luck to you guys

The number of furloughs has already been reduced once already. . .from around 90 to around 70. RJ's will probably stick around longer than they anticipated. Junior Captains are being reduced into RJ FO seats. Mismanagement says Q400 reliability is going up, although we still have our bad days. Q200's will be gone by end of October.

Oh yeah. . .no more free starbuck's coffee for employees.

Besides all of that. . .no news. Hope I didn't repeat to much of what the others had to say. . .I didn't read the thread.

Trust me you are better off at Colgan. Horizontal 7 year upgrade is moving it's way to 12 years. You will be doing the Cha Cha Slide for a while if you go to there. Dont know what im talking about just watch this video

You slide left, slide right and after 9 years you are pretty much in the same spot where you started. This is how your seniority will move at this place

Anyone know if there are any former retired Horizon Pilots who have been re-hired?

I was forced to retire from Horizon as a 17 year captain before the new age 65 rule came into effect. I submitted a pilot application but haven’t heard from anyone yet.

You would want to go back as a first year FO? Why don't you go fly a contract somewhere in Europe and make some decent cash?

I know of a check-airman that left Horizon before 9/11 for United and when he got furloughed Horizon wouldnt re-hire him even though they were hiring at the time. He eventually went to Skywest and is now at Alaska.

In their exit interviews they are known for saying dont burn any bridges. What bridge! If you leave there is now bridge back...You are better of working at Menards or Home Depot. Enjoy the rest of your life. Stay away from Horizon's stress inducing management team.

Considering all the other options, Horizon Air is still a gret place to work, the best regional airline, even as a new hire FO.

I dont know about the best. I guess it depends on what you want for yourself. I worked there for almost two years and I knew better than that. Im not denying that its a good company.. Just bad management. One thing i could give the management team credit for is and thats fooling everyone outside of Horizon and Alaska Air Group that its a good place to be. Quickest way to slow your career down. Dont let them fool you
