If we want leverage to get the payrates and workrules the crewforce should get (I guess you don't) then we need to stop letting guys hide in the shadows and work against the NC and the crewforce. And maybe you should reread the CBA and see where most of the "money" went. It sure wasn't to the junior guys. We didn't get what we ALL should have gotten during the last negotiations because there are TOO many independent contractor here who only think of themselves (look in the mirror). Time to put the spotligt on them wether they be junior OR senior.

i have an idea...screw em...let them fly 15 time zones at once for airbus pay...why give the old geezers another payraise anyway?...they will keel over quicker and we move up the seniority list that much faster.....

Come on guys, give Foxhunter a break. He'll be gone soon enough. He's kind of like that old aunt who comes over on the holiday's, no one really likes her and she scares all the kids. Rambling on about some long forgotten uncle, falling asleep at the dinner table, and passing gas (which you than blame on the dog )
He'll fall back asleep again soon, only to awake during some other thread.

You make a compelling case on why you choose to follow your own path regardless of what it does or doesn't do to the rest of us. Of the 4,678 pilots you mention, however, an extremely small minority are 777 cadre, DP flyers, or calender blockers. It speaks volumes that you choose to put yourself in the same category as those guys. It's unfortunate that many of those personalities make it through the interview process, but that's life. Good luck with the rest of your career. The rest of us will be doing what we can to make sure it's successful...for everyone.

Since you were in the military? You knew FedEx was going to be flying the B777 Freighter before Boeing even announced its plans to build one? When were you hired here? If not, then why did you come to FedEx. Were you waiting for your "life's opportunity" at a "real" airline that already was flying the B777 so you could live your dream?

There are 4,678 pilots on the master seniority list and I doubt that that I'm screwing all of them. As for "Team player" who's a team player? You? The training department that already has many line pilots to spin up the 777 syllabus? DP flyers in it for more bucks regardless of intimidation? The calendar blockers? Team? What team.

Another figment of your imagination is recommending that we all take the 777 off of our standing did. You charge through like it could ever happen. Heck, I'll go a step further. . . nobody bid anything except their current seat. That will make them go, huh? I shudder to think what if 4,678 pilots were in charge. I don't think that the company offer is optimum, but I'm going to do what I have been instructed to do all of my career - "Bid what you want to fly!" Have you heard this from anyone before?

After the postal contract a lot of guys junior to me bid MEM MD-11 F/O and were awarded it. I opted to wait until the next bid. I wanted to fly the airplane but the time wasn't right. The next bid came and I couldn't hold the seat . . . and the next bid, and the next. And 3 years later, I get the award. "Note to self" - Don't do that again. I want to fly the 777. It has been my goal for a long time. Even in the military I knew I'd fly it someday.

Yes, according to Jack, I'm part of the problem. What's your solution?
Mine is to bid what I want to fly, let ALPA see if they can salvage their own mess, and accept that I can write my Block rep during the next round of contract negotiations.
I guess you are right and everyone else is wrong.
