This is obviously the police sketch artist depiction from the description given by FH after this very deer scared his horse last year. It was filed in the X-files so I don't know how you got it. No wonder Mr. Ed was scared and threw FH for a loop. I'm just glad he recovered just in time for the first Captain bid he could hold after the age change.

Someone send that link to FH (Not Fox, but the letter writer). I'm sure if he starts using it, he won't feel it's "unfair" anymore.

Carry in conflict trips are pay coded CIA and are thus, treated differently than the M/U trip you pickup after "open" time is released. Creates a "mini-RLG" for a month composed of both trips and R days.

carryover trips, might or might not count towards leveling.

Contingency Trip Drop
Just to add another scheduling enhancement discussion to this thread.

I talked to FE (before he was asked to resign) and offered an idea for a VIPS enhancement.

Contingency Trip Drop would simply mean that when you submit a Trip Drop, it immediately gets "advertised" in VIPS Open Time if the system responds to you with "unable - insufficient reserve coverage".

This allows for the all the pilot population to immediately see that it is available for pickup (trading for it would probably be restricted because of insufficient reserves in the original scenario) instead of depending upon 3rd party advertising of your trips. From the person who is perusing Open Time, it looks like any other Open Time trip (except it is coded for makeup only, not tradable). The pilot trying to drop it is responsible for flying the trip up until some predetermined time before the trip shows if no one picks it up. With the way 99% of Open Time gets scarfed up, this would be a surefire way to get rid of a trip you don't want to/can't fly.

This potentially would increase the pilot's ability to modify schedules and, at the same time, reduce the amount of sick calls for the company. A win - win situation.

I have discussed this idea with O, and he mentioned that it sounded like a good idea, but would be considered an improvement to the CBA that would have to come under Section 6 negotiations.

My argument is that, just like adding other features to VIPS (Visa, currency notifications, etc.), this is really just an advertising process using VIPS Open Time instead of a 3rd party website.

What do you think?

Now there ya go thinkin again

It would only work if the company came up with the idea! Remember we have no "special skills" therefore any ideas out of the pilot group will not work.

Carryover trips DO count for leveling if awarded a Reserve line in the new month. First hand experience with this one.

Doesn't seem inconsistent with what I said, might/might not.

Situation where it doesn't count for leveling is for a non-reserve carryover trip and
If the pilot holds a BLG with mini-RLG in the second bid period, the remainder of trip guarantee for the carryover trip shall be added to such BLG, and shall not be credited toward mini-RLG or leveling.

A carryover trip assigned on reserve will always count for leveling.
