Quote: Morale of the story when going from reserve to a line, either the last day of the reserve month needs to be an XX day, or the 1st day of the line month needs to hold a trip. In my very limited window into what scheduling does to pilots, I see and hear about this all the time. It's a deliberate way they can increase productivity without increasing cost. Dirty trick but 100% legal.
I definitely don't blame the company at all. I blame us for not negotiating protections in our contract for this type of trip coverage.

Exactly. Otherwise you're volunteering for an involuntary WS.
I stand corrected. Just another jewel in our transition scheduling rules. What do we have to give up to fix it?
Nonrev international question. When checking in out of country do you get your usual standby slip. Or do they give you a seat at ticket counter before you go through security.

It depends. In SNN or DUB, you have to have the seat assignment to pass through US customs. Definitely check-in at the ticket counter, even if you are not checking a bag.

Thanks . We are non rev to PUJ.

Morale, moral, what's the diff?
Quote: I'm going to write my reps, but I doubt anything will come from it. Thanks for the answers.

There was language in the failed TA to cover this scenario. It was a step in the right direction but it only triggered premium pay if a reserve assignment worked you into more than one regular line day off. We'll see if it makes into TA2...hopefully with the trigger changed to being worked into any regular line day off.

Freudian slip, ya got me.

I have not non-revved out of there, but have operated in and out of there. The airport is pretty small, so even if they hold you at the ticket counter until check-in is closed (60 mins prior to departure for most int'l cities) you'll have plenty of time to get to the boarding area. No jetways, so once they board, you just walk out to the airplane from a central boarding lounge.
