heard airways was making a ton off that selling promotion. Our lowly regional flight attendants loved it also, as they no longer had to do a real beverage service.

I worked there almost twenty years. Don't get your hopes up. Probably just sleepwalking.

This is one of those things that I'm sure the flying public loved to b*tch and moan about. Just like how passengers are complaining about airlines charging to check even one bag now. But really, when most people go to Orbitz and Travelocity and all those other websites, they care about one thing and one thing only--PRICE. Yeah, people get ****ed when they get on a plane and find out that they have to pay for water, but at that point the airline already has made their money by charging for the ticket. It's very sad to see airlines having to charge for drinks, but since people only care about price when they are buying the ticket, it actually seems like a good business practice.

Wow, Ghetto Airways is calling it a day. Kudos..... I know when I was working the Airways side of the house, I was always recommending the FA's comp. our paying customers w/ N.A. beverages. What a bunch of scumbags to charge people for water when they're a captive audience. Like someone else mentioned, this should be already factored into the purchase price of the ticket.

Paying for beverages and food is the norm in Europe at most LCCs... it's the norm. The cheaper alternative is to buy the food and drink before boarding... alot cheaper.

Brilliant Post:

Now the only scumbags charging the captive audience is the WAY OVERPRICED airport concessions and resturants. And now they don't have any competition.

Why should I be forced to pay more for my ticket if I don't want to check a bag , or have any drinks or watch a movie?

I may just want the cheapest airfare possible. All those other frills or services have a price and it's factored into every other passengers ticket price.

If you want snacks or drinks, You pay for it. Don't make everybody else pay your way.

Would you want to pay $30 to go to the movie theatre because they included a candy bar, video game and free drinks for everybody?

Hey... in some cities that's a bargain. You can't get two tickets and a candy bar for less than $36.00.
