I wouldn't consider the student to be a passenger however that section gives specific information on flight instruction. If that part were not there, I would say it is ok. But since it mentions specific information for flight instruction and that it has to be a required maneuver, I am leaning toward no. The spin example in the regs is telling as that is a required for the CFI which makes sense why they use it as an example. Originally Posted by ryan1234
