I've been researching PSA recently, thinking about sending them a resume. From what I have found they seem like a great company. Does anyone know if CLT is a jr. or sr. crew base? Any other info about the company would be great as well. Thanks.

Great company and regional airline should never be lumped together. It's amazing what newbies think of regional airlines. Just read any interview gouge board and listen to the interviewees spew off how great the company is that interviewed them. When all along, they are surrounded by people that actually work there and read online from acutal employees, what a crappy place to work it actually is. Thank god for rose colored glasses! They'll learn soon enough.

PSA is a good company but it is all relative when you compare all the regionals. It is not the worst but not the best either. Most everyone I ran into there ****ed and moaned about the company. I was hired in January but have since quit. I knew the pay was bad going in but found out that the QOL at a regional along with the bad pay just was not for me. The training is, in my opinion, very good. (Better than ExpressJet as far as I was concerned.) I only flew for about 2 months, but in that time I only ran into one Captain who was a jerk. All the rest were very nice and helpful. If you are hired there, most likely you will be based in Dayton at first. My class all went to CLT even though there were people in DAY wanting CLT. My understanding is is that CLT will eventually base everyone...but plans and rumors change daily at the regionals as you will see. Hope that helps. If you want more, let me know. CTL

JDR,

You will have to excuse Cynical , he is having a bad hair day I guess since he had nothing to add but a high pitched whine. PSA has great people and seems to be setting itself up for success. Like any other regional you are most certainly not going to get rich there, they are going to work you hard, and you can end up on your butt, but that's a given. The interview process is straight forward and you can read all the details online. CLT is open as it was explained to me. I was hired very recently and am waiting to start ground school.
Good luck!

I was recently talking to a PSA crew about their schedules. I thought ours were bad - they have 19 hour, 8 leg/day 4-days (I was on an 18 hour 3-day 4 legs/day). Jesus...@*#$ that. You'd be better off going to a commuter like colgan so you can upgrade quicker. Why not? QOL would be the same.

Im flying for myself. I gave up on the airline dream...which really was not a dream; just a goal that I achieved. It is a shame what the airlines have become for pilots. It used to be a profession that was looked up to...now it is just a job that pays around minimum wage when you really brake it down. (Last month I made 6 bucks an hour) Again, I knew the pay was crap going in and if I sound bitter, well, I am not. It is what it is. I quit a week ago and I dont miss it a bit. For those of you who are persuing the dream, go for it and good luck. It has to get better because it cant get much worse.

How do you figure you made $6/hr?

A serious question, did you finish your proby period or were you still on first year pay?
