My understanding (as related to me by a former FedEx manager) is that when FedEx underwent their rebranding from Federal Express, they utilized several different sources to come up with new logos.

One of those sources was a class of marketing students at the University of Memphis. Apparently they were the ones to create the logo/branding that was finally accepted. FedEx and the university have created an ongoing relationship in the years since.

That's what I've been told... can't confirm it 100%, but I think it's a cool story.

Arabic writing..
Quote: UAE, it was a van in Dubai!
So, is the arrow still pointing forward if you read Arabic from right to left?

Cheers!

Somewhere out in internet world there is a whole webpage on the subject. I ran into it a long time ago just surfing Fedex stuff. If I find it I'll post it. I think I googled Fedex and after about 1000 links I found it. (I was really bored on a hub turn)

Of course, we all normally trust FedEx managers, but not this time!
