What are the hiring mins, and got a lead? So far any SIC I have seen for lower time is crud pay, like basically no pay.

Rick,

If I were you, I would continue to fly jumpers until you got 100 hours multi with 1000 hours total time, then apply everywhere you can. If you don't get anything, then once you get to 1200, assuming you have the rest of the 135 minimums, I would apply to Ameriflight and get on with them flying a Navajo. Upgrade in a year or so to a 99, and after that to something with a type rating. A couple years of doing that can open many doors for you.

If you want a different path, do the CFI, CFII, MEI and get some students or an instruction job, but only if you like teaching. If you hate teaching, please don't do it, both for your sake, and for that of your students.

Good luck. Times are tough for low hour pilots right now, but it will get better!

Don't know if that was directed for me, but if it was.

ACC's minimum pilot requirements are:
  • 500-1,000 hrs total time (min of 750 preferred)
  • 100 hrs multi-engine time
  • 50 hrs instrument
  • ATP written
  • 1st Class Medical
I'm in the boat right now of trying to do anything except buy multi time.

Quote: Pretty simple really... Is the King Air flown part 91? Can't log it.
You sure CAN log it.

what if you have dual received time in a King Air? I know its not PIC but can't it still count towards total multi?

its a bit of a grey area, but why cant a CFI teach you and log it, I would have no shame logging that.....same as when I get in the Kingair and fly it all day while the guy who is there for the insurance picks his nose and chats with me all day, its part 91 and under 12.5 and i got a multi comm, you damn well bet im logging it
