"They" literally hold all the cards: Timing and size of bids, training date sequencing, cancelled bids, details of the ever-changing LOA, etc. all add up to maximum uncertainty.

I recommend you ask your sponsor to connect you with someone currently-based in HKG and pick their brain. What are the REAL plusses and minuses? How many people are staying or leaving ASAP? I don't know, but there are quite a few openings coming up, but...Caveat emptor.

Thanks for the good advice. Several FDX guys, some currently based in HKG, have been very generous with their time and emails, giving some very good information, to me and others.
