Turbine PIC a requisite for Continental?

I've heard some talk of a few guys getting on at CAL without turbine PIC. Does anybody know this to be true first hand? I am right at the CAL mins with the 1000 turbojet and all other requirements met but no turbine PIC due to slow upgrades at my current 135 job. Any info or observations/opinions on this is much appreciated!

Yep, it's true. I know 4 so far. Besides, it doesn't say you NEED turbine PIC to meet the published mins If you have 1000 SIC turbine all you need is 500 REGULAR PIC. That, or special exceptions were made for the 4 people I know. Doubt it.

Whether or not you are competetive or have a relative or multiple lor's is a different story.

Any word on them requiring JET time vs, 121 T-prop ?

they also probably knew people cause there are thousands of guys of there with plenty of jet pic who did not get on................

T-Prop is fine. The matter is not how much time you have. It is WHO walks your stuff into the Chief Pilot. I am serious. I'd buddy up with anybody at the carrier that you want to go to. Forget trying to get turbine time.
