Just finished my airlineapp and the addendum for SY. 3900hr of 121, 700 of that PIC. Currently CRJ at OO. I live in the TC currently. Should I sit back and wait? How actively are the looking at applications? I got a name (Tracy) to possibly talk to. Would walking in my resume be appreciated?

I believe it's part of the CBA and SY can't unilaterally get rid of it. I think they'd like to but ALPA will want something in return.

I left after just under a year and yes, they are enforcing the contract. I paid the balance and it's a clean break. I didn't sign the agreement under duress and knew exactly what I was getting into when I signed it.

I ended up getting a job offer from a different airline but I have no regrets about spending a year there. It was a breath of fresh air for me and I saw some neat places and flew with some interesting people.

All that said, I also wish there were no training contract. But I went there of my own volition so I have no complaints about it.

Saab2000, were you living in MSP or did you commute? Is commuting practical?

I was in the same boat. I left after about 17 months and they auto deducted it from my paycheck. The accrued vacation pay more than paid for it.

I commuted from California(yes I am crazy). I really couldn't get anything commutable on both ends and spent a lot of time in Msp. Like Saab said, the airline is full of a lot of great people to fly with but it isn't commuter friendly ( or at least wasn't when I was there ).

Is enyone know how can I apply for sun country? Is there any number of recruiter that I could talk to? I couldn't find any contact number of their office.

Airline apps

Be very careful with your grammar.

I lived in MSP. It's a good job on many fronts for people living in MSP but tougher for commuters. It's not intentionally a commuter unfriendly place, but the nature of their schedules make it less than ideal, especially for junior pilots.

As soon as I was offered the job I moved to MSP, where I have some roots and family. Now that I have a new job I may look into relocating to another city.

Commuting sucks no matter how you slice it and I think it would be even worse for Sun Country pilots, simply because of the nature of most of their flying. That's not a slam on SY at all, but the flying they do isn't oriented around commuters.

I'm very glad I lived in domicile during my year there.

You're going to want to live in Minneapolis as a new-hire unless you really just want the 737 type (equivalent up to half of your first year's pay if you resign) and/or don't have obligations in your hometown. The reserve periods are 0300-1700 and 1100-0100, all short-call 2 hour. 10 days off per month (5 on, 2 off) -- four of those days will be a consecutive block of "hard" days off.
