Quote: I am about to move up there also. So used to MCO and LAX selling employee parking passes but not SFO or SJC. So far all I can find is Park SFO. I figured roughly if I am doing 4 4 days trips a month it will cost me about $240 for parking each month. (ouch... it was $35 at MCO and $55 at LAX) Park SFO rates are about $15 a day per 24hr period and they don't break it down by the hr. So unless you can get back to SFO before the clock starts again on the 4th day you are paying for the whole day. Does ANYONE that commutes out of SFO have any better options? Forking over $2,880 a year on parking.... just hurts.
OAK used to be around $90 month (a few years ago).

If you're airline seves SFO you are in fact eligible to purchase employe coupons. I did this just recently.

What about parking in a neighborhood near a Bart or Caltrain stop?

I tried that once. Problem is that BART near the airport jacks up the rates dramatically. It's like only $1 more to take BART all the way from my house in Oakland to SFO than it is to take BART one stop from Colma or wherever to SFO. Because BART knows that people will try to get around airport parking by taking a short, 'cheap' BART ride. It ain't cheap. Roundtrip on BART 1 stop to SFO is about the same as discounted employee parking in the short-term lot.

There is a place to park in OAK for free, though. Of course you then have to get to SFO, which is the same cost as just parking in SFO in the first place.

I bought the employee coupons before I was based in SFO. I just showed my ID and they didn't even check what airline. If I were the OP I'd just show up at the parking office on the 3rd floor of short-term parking and ask for some coupons...

I'm based in SFO and the company came out with a letter that you can only leave your car in the company lot for a max of 14 days but discount coupons were available from the airport that dropped the price down to only $13/day. Thats a lot of money if you're trying to keep a car in SFO.

yeah even at $13 a day its crazy. Like I said all the other places I lived before it was $1-2 a day if you break it down. Thanks for all the info though. Looks like for now Park SFO is the best deal. Even at $15 a day it you can get free days after X amount of days. 24/7 service and all. Pay $99 a year membership and you save 10%. I'm with EV so I do wonder if we can get Inc. discount at SFO.

Park SFO: It is a steep $15.00 a day & even a little bit over & you have to pay for a full day. Even with the annual membership & free days, it is still a lot more than what it is worth.

I am in the same boat as the rest of you guys whose airline does not serve SFO or does not have a base here and I have tried to slice it through every possible angle I could; below is a synopsis of the last 6 months..

Park at Bart & take bart to SFO: Takes a very long time, one has to be very precise in purchasing Park & ride for Bart, something which we can not do, working for the Airlines. In the end, the Bart parking plus train ticket to Sfo works about the same as parking at airport.

Park at a friend's house or business near Bart: Works a little cheaper but again, it requires a lot of planning & co-ordination & it is again very time consuming as you first park your car & then figure out a a ride to Bart, wait for the train, then Bart is not very fast.

Other cheaper San Bruno off site parking spots, service is too un-Reliable. Many time one ends up waiting for a long time for either the shuttle or other passengers to fill up.

Then, I have found this site, it uses various hotels as a pre-paid guaranteed parking spot & Hotel shuttle to their lot. Not exactly as cheap as the monthly pass but it is a valid option.

GlobalAirportParking.com - Search Results

I am not promoting this site at all, just that it seems to work a little cheaper.

Also, some times I just get a ride to one of the Bart stations & don't park at all. When I land back from my trip, I usually have 2-3 days off, so I also look at the car rentals prices, it is many times cheaper to rent a car for 2 or 3 days & drop it at the airport when I leave back for my next 4-5 day trip.

Also, since the company pays only $40 or $45 each month, the extra money you spend for parking or car rentals, will go towards Un-reimbursed employee expenses of your tax return & act as a write off. Talk to your CPA or accountant about it.

If someone has Better idea that works, Pls do share...

Why don't you park in a close in neighborhood and Uber in?

I looked at parking around the area. Most of the townships prohibit overnight parking on the street unless you have a permit.
