Per the Commercial Appeal this morning...

Sean Menke to step down as Pinnacle Airlines CEO » The Commercial Appeal

Nice job...looks like JS will be taking over.

Guess it was just <sniff, sniff> too rough on his family after all.

Sorry, guys...doesn't look good. Best of luck to all.

I would say Delta is forsure calling the shots and pulling the strings now. Spanjers who will succeed Menke was CEO of Mesaba in their last bankruptcy and you just had the feeling he was a "yes man" to NWA back then.

Makes you wonder why he is stepping down. I'm guessing he doesn't have the stomach for this Sham bankruptcy for what ever reason. Maybe he doesn't want to have to explain his pay raise 30 times in front of a bankruptcy judge or maybe Delta wants to gut the place so bad he doesn't want to be around for that. Any guesses??

Apparantly they need a training contract for execs.

This may not be a popular statement but I believe that menhke came in thinking he would be running the company, then he found out that delta would be controlling everything. I believe his tears were real and were probably out of frustration. I generally believe he was a good guy and probably wanted out but they gave him that money to shut up. This guy although he is a bankruptcy specialist has nothing but good reviews from his former employees. This confirms to me that we are under complete control of delta airlines

So does this complete the hostel take over of pinnacle by mesaba?

Spanjers has never been a "leader" per se. He is a very competent administrator, and he's at his best when taking calls from the mothership.

does that mean that John Spanjers will be getting another raise?
