Don't sweat it. It seems like a lot of his posts have a negative tone.

You have more TPIC than I do and I have been at a regional for 7+ years.

Keep up the good work, and I hope you get that guard slot.
Appreciate it, man.. Regionals is my way of life now. That corporate place hit a brick wall and the planes went away. Airlines give me a little more stability at least.. Can't wait to disappear to the mil for a little while, though.

My compliments to you. Having both a civilian and military network will really pay dividends for you long term. Nice work.

Quote: Great observation... I just earned my 4 year degree last May and am applying to Air National Guard/AFRC units. I'll make my way out of the regionals just fine.. Previous job experience puts me near 800 TPIC as well.. It's funny how your judgements can be so wrong about people.
Best of luck to you. I realized a bit late that I wished I had followed through with the military option. I abandoned the idea in college, and now at 26 am having major regrets.

Quote: Apply anyways, wouldnt surprise me if the FAA delayed the rules even further.

Does that mean mins drop again to get more bodies in now vs. scurrying for them later?

So many unknowns!

Quote: What can the union do? It's not their fault that this pilot will be ineligible to acquire the FAA-required license to operate an airliner. I would not be surprised to see any of the above happen either.

I have always been amazed at the pilots that started at an airline at 20 or 21 and feel they have a huge head start on the game while never earning a degree, then getting upset 8-10 years later when he/she is still stuck working at the same regional. Just an observation I have made.
I had my first 121 job at the age of 21 with a four year degree.

Screw you over?

Give me a break.

I'm on the line right now and I'm 21. I won't be 23 by that deadline and I've already talked to the Union and they said I will get a 2 month LOA until I can take the ATP checkride. Apparently after me and a couple friends got hired they realized they made a mistake WHOOPS!

well I am just going to apply and hope for the best, that is all I can do. If I don't get the call then I don't. We will see!

Paid or unpaid? If it's unpaid, are you eligible for unemployment?
