Here is the latest info. Good luck to all (Tools need not apply ) Please forgive the formatting.

It's that time again, we are reopening the pilot application process the morning of Monday, February 11th. We are excited to continue the hiring process and need your help spreading the following helpful application tips:

 Only online applications are accepted via https://careers.alaskaair.com/Alaska-CareerOps.asp starting Monday, February 11th.

 The requisition will be open for 7 days; closing at 11:59pm on Monday, February 18th.

 All qualified candidates currently on the requisition posted in April 2012, will receive an email notifying them of the posting window and the need to reapply.

 All applicants who applied or were interviewed, but unsuccessful, last hiring window are eligible to reapply.

 The hiring team will review resumes once the requisition closes. We are looking for best qualified and don't provide preference to those that applied first.

 The system will accept an infinite number of applications.

 Internet Explorer 8 or above, running on Windows, is the browser that is strongly recommended to successfully submit your application. If you choose to use another browser, your application may not come through successfully.

 Before applying, we recommend that you clear your browsing history including your temporary internet files and disable pop-up blockers.

 The online application process takes approximately 30 minutes. Be prepared to supply 10 years of work experience plus your high school information as well as any secondary education.

 Once in the application, be sure to use the links provided to return to the previous page if needed. The back button is not compatible with our system.

 A current resume is a required part of the application process. Once your application is submitted, your resume cannot be edited or deleted.

 Candidates are able to attach up to five letters of recommendation. To do this, they must click on the “My Career Tools” section on the careers page (upper right hand corner) and navigate to the section titled “Cover Letters and Attachments”. They will then be prompted to add attachment and list the document title.

 Please read each question with care and not rush through the application. This will ensure the application is processed correctly and given full consideration for an interview. Due to the selection process being highly competitive, it is critical the application has accurate information.

 Qualifications:
o 3000 hours total time (PIC requirement has been removed)
o ATP
o Four year degree o First Class Medical
o Vision correctable to 20/20
o Non-user of nicotine products

Please encourage your referrals to apply during the week following February 11th, not necessarily on that date. As witnessed last time, too many candidates applying at the same time slows down the system and causes possible inactivity.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email Sarah McGinnis at [email protected].

This is fantastic! Being from the Seattle area, you'd think I'd know people flying for Alaska, but I just can't think of anyone.
Better start beating the Facebook bushes to see if any former high school classmates or Air Force buddies are at Alaska.

No PIC? Sorta surprising. No nicotine products? Is that legal to require? Wow. Not that I would be affected.

Been that way for years.

Standard, "they're house, they're rules".

Plus it's NOT discrimination in ANY recognized form.

Bear in mind, years and years ago, AA used to have what was known as "The Astronaut physical" that was well above a standard FAA Class 1.

Again "they're house, their rules". The word (unconfirmed) was that, at least at the time of hire, if they (the company) could prove the employee conformed to a certain health standard via the test, they (the company) paid LESS on their portion of the health care premium according to the healthcare provider. Again, that's just what I heard.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with it at all.
BUT, I told my wife that it goes for family members too!

In the past low PIC time pilots were given a sim eval. I don't know about this round.
