Quote: Those are good numbers. You should disclose which flight school it is you work for if you're trying to help others get such a good gig. Otherwise what you say seems to be none other than a load of horse sh*t
Now, how would telling you what flight school I worked for make you believe me? If you don't believe what I am saying now, then you'll never believe me even if I photocopied pay stubs and logbooks. People don't like being proven wrong. That particular flight school isn't hiring right now because of the 1500 hour rule and wouldn't help him anyways; it isn't in Atlanta.

I was in the same boat as you about a year ago. 0 dual given, and where I lived there were no CFI jobs to speak of. I had to relocate.

A few others above have mentioned that. Sometimes that's the name of he game in aviation. It was stressful but now I have an excellent CFI job and I am happy I made the move.

You are close to Florida there are lots of flight schools there you may be surprised how many more options you have if you don't limit your location

ATP may hire you but only stay there long enough to get some dual given and maybe some muti. with more competitive cfi hours find another job that will treat you right (there are CFI jobs that will).

Getting time in the seminole will be limited due to the new program. The private instrument track does all of the instrument training in the cessna, versus the old program where you would do your instrument training in the seminole. Instructors are seeing a change in multi time at atp.

You do get to fly a lot though, can live on the pay (not like a rock star), but you will be sent where you are needed until you prove your self and get your seniority and the slot opens up to where you want to go.

good luck.

Quote: I had 7 instructors during my training at ATP PDK, they all kept complaining about working there. ATP will place you where they need you, they have now 4 instructors at PDK so i would think they are getting very busy there, most students who finish the ACPP there will like to instruct in Atlanta. I think they are opening a location at RYY though.
I went to pretty much every flight school in the Atl area looking for a CFI job without any dual given, no luck. Some chief pilots toldme they had a line of cfis before me. VPC, RYY, FTY, PDK, PUJ
Got a job in TX (not ATP), put my house in Atlanta for rent, brought my wife and kid to Texas, found a nice apartment, put my kid at school here, been here for 4 months and have close to 300 hrs dual given.
No regrets
RYY location is already open from what I can tell.

So you had no luck in the ATL area as recently as 4 months ago?

What about AmericanFlyers?

I know they don't really have multis, definitely not in the atl area, but at least I can go from zero dual given to something.

Falcon aviation is great place, pretty decent fleet of diamonds and Chinese students to fill your logbook. They have multiple branches in FFC, CCO and I believe PDK is still there as well.

Falcon would be awesome. Chinese student contracts are a big plus, too, good to know!
