On the conference call yesterday, CM stated that “they” (Local 357) had met with Frontier Management on Monday, October 7, to discuss Frontier “issues” and Frontier’s involvement with Indigo.

CM stated that Frontier Management said they have not been a part of any conversation between FAPAInvest and Indigo and there is no part of that conversation, to the best of their knowledge, that involved CBA related issues.

So, do we really have any role in these discussions until or unless they relate to the CBA or representational issues?

My question is, how many people from the EBoard made this trip? How many people from 357 normally attend the meetings with Frontier Management?

Does the entire EBoard attend? Or is it the EBoard and whoever else wants to go? I “heard” there were eight (8) 357 personnel at the meeting on Monday, is that true?

Wouldn’t one or two EBoard members be able to handle these discussions? Are there ever any Frontier pilots who are members of 357 at these meetings?

Does this all come out of Flight Pay Loss, do our dues pay for hotel rooms, meals and rental cars? Is it really necessary to have seven or eight people attend these meetings?

How long do these meeting normally take? Is it a daylong session a half day, a couple of hours or an hour or less?

What does the EBoard hope to achieve with these meetings and are those objectives being met? Are the costs worth the results?

Have we made any difference to either the Frontier pilot’s lives or to our lives?

What is the exact cost of hauling everyone to DEN, paying for Flight Pay Loss, hotels, meals, cars, etc.? Do all these people jumpseat/non-rev or are we buying tickets as well?

Why are we spending our dues to send seven or eight people to Denver when we have nothing to discuss? Is it solely to prevent a DFR case?

Are there any Frontier specific operational issues discussed and are any operational issues resolved? Are we (357) even aware of what the operational issues at Frontier are?

Or, is the purpose of these meetings primarily to make sure Frontier Management isn’t talking to FAPA or FAPAInvest?

Did our strongly worded letter to Indigo make any difference? Did we even hear back from Indigo?

Sort of sorry to post this here but, I would face retaliation from some pilots and from the Union (fines, expulsion, etc.) if I posted it on our message board.

The EBoard should be held financially responsible and should be able to justify their actions to the membership as they are spending our dues and neglecting our operational issues and CBA negotiations to accomplish what?

Looking forward to some answers, here or on our board, to these many questions.

Those are all valid questions and concerns. Why did you not bring them up on the conference call? I'm sure if you emailed JC or the eboard general address, you would get a very thorough answer.

I don't think you would get any retaliation for bringing these concerns up on the local website. What you might receive grief for however, is your history of quoting people from a private website, and sharing our private information on a public board.

The local 357 msg board would be a better place to ask these questions as well as a call to your rep.

You won't get proper answers on this open and public msg board.

You will just create a thread that degenerates in a a peeing contest. Or was that all you intended; not serious answers?!

I have tried to bring up similar issues on the conference call. The response has always been, CM answers half of each question, half of the total number of questions and gets very defensive whenever he feels his actions or statements are being challenged.

His answers to questions like – What’s the status of the LOA 67 litigation border on outright lies, unless he is purposely being left out of the loop. He says the Magistrate and/or the Judge is sitting on the case, when in fact, Wilder, et al. are still filing documents with the court that require rulings.

Regarding the sale of Frontier, I lost track of how many times he said (words to the effect), “I’ve signed NDA’s with the Company (not true) and seen their books (not true), I can’t really comment, but, with what I’ve seen, no one is going to purchase them (not true).” IF he had signed an NDA, just that statement would have violated the NDA.

Over half the questions – Q Check Airmen flying the line, seat locks not applying to Q FO’s then suddenly they do apply, Canadian Gen Decs, numerous grievances, etc., he cops to either, “This is the first I’ve heard of it”, “We’re working on it, but can’t say anything.” or “I can’t talk about that on an open line.”

When asked, “What are we going to do about the NMB”, he is purposely vague, when asked about the reasoning or the effectiveness of a “No Confidence Vote” (or lack thereof), he just says, “We have to show management we’re united.” The “Strike Vote” had a much larger turnout and was supposed to send a huge message to management, it was a game changer! In the end, it achieved nothing.

It goes on and on. He seems incapable of actually answering a question completely without becoming distracted, blaming someone else or talking over people that have questions he doesn’t want to hear, like, “Why not put in a new group on the NC.” He practically roars his response to that question and I (and it appears many others) consider it a valid question/strategy.

One thing is certain, what we’ve been doing for 3 years, ISN’T working, why NOT try something different?

If he were to answer these questions fully, without being defensive or growing angry, there would be no need to post anywhere except on our MB, but he won’t.

No one gets "any proper answers" on our MB either.

Everyone has seen how the pilots that question CM, the EBoard, the NC or any other part of the union that isn’t working are treated by the heavy-duty, pro-status quo (as far as the union goes), Kool-Aid drinkers on the MB. They are berated and personally insulted for having the audacity to question anything that the union is doing.

I don’t expect or even think it would be a good idea for my questions to be answered on a public MB. My intention is to open a discussion on our MB, without being personally assaulted – again.

Been there, done that, not going to try again.

On the conference call today, at 1511 EDT, CM, once again, stated that there is no movement or change in status in the LOA 67 lawsuit.

On September 27, 2013, International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Airline Division filed their last communication with the Court regarding the LOA 67 litigation in the form of a “Plaintiff’s Objection to Magistrate Judge’s Orders Granting in Part Defendants’ Motion for Sanctions Pursuant to F.R.CIV.P.37”

This objection was filed by the Law Firm of Baptiste & Wilder, who is a Law Firm employed by IBT Local 357.

The case is not static, all parties continue to file motions with the Court, so the case is ongoing as opposed to CM’s statement. CM must be aware of this fact, but chooses to categorize the matter to the membership inaccurately.

If that is the case in this matter, what else is inaccurate and how will we know if we are hearing the truth or not?

Additionally, pilots have encouraged me to raise these issues on our MB as they are interested in the answers as well. I see none of these pilots wish to post any of these questions on the MB or even ask the questions on the conference call.

Maybe because you are nitpicking. There is nothing new with the case. Get a life.

1) I have a life, it’s 36.62 an hour for the rest of my life. I thought that would be self-evident.

2) Have you read or kept current with the documents filed in this case?

3) Purposely misleading the membership is NOT “nitpicking.” Ever heard of Gene Sowell?
