Quote: It's because those guys in the RJ's have never seen icing before, flying that big shiny jet, in their C152s. They're probably in the right seat curled up in the featle position.
Am I sensing a little jealosy here.

I fly old regional airliners, EMB-110's. Now they spend their retirement hauling freight.
Taking bets, Saab 340, Beech 1900, and maybe the ATR? I think they are all next in line to be a cheap and easy turbo-prop for freighters to pick up, as per the trend.

B1900
Ameriflight is already acquiring B1900's for its expanding service. We're also talking about getting ATR's down the road.

Castle already runs a Saab 340. The only problem with those A/C though is they have relatively small doors for their size. Probably a bigger problem for on demand operators than scheduled operators though.

FedEx is already replacing their F27's with ATR's

I thought AMF had ATRs in San Juan. What do they have out there?

ATRs in SJU
AMF does not have ATRs in San Juan. Those belong to Mountain Air Cargo (I believe, along with the Caravans) AMF has Metro IIIs, Beech 1900s, and one or two Beech 99s

Ha! This is all SO true!

• You have not done a daylight landing in the past six months.
--or the place where you fly is routinely dark for months on end--day or night!

• You call the hotel van to pick you up and they don't understand where you are on the airport.
--this has happened MANY times

• Your airplane has more than eight faded logos on it.
--and parts seem to keep getting painted as they are fixed so that there is nothing uniform about the paint scheme and it takes on a takes on an pre-school finger paint scheme.

• You wear the same shirt for a week, and no one complains.
--actually, they question you when you change clothes mid-week.

• You request the visual approach with 300’ overcast and ½ SM vis.
--response to ATC traffic advisory: "Uh, that other traffic must be on the ILS because I can't see 'em."

How about:
You kick the ramper off the forklift because you can drive it better than he can.

The F word has slowly worked its way between syallbles of longer words.

You're partial panel training has come in especially useful because more than half of all the instruments are MEL'd at any given moment.
And when the MELs are extended the comments section reads "who cares?"

LOL!
