Quote: Do they send out invitations to come to training? My girlfriend applied and everything went great on the phone call, the chief pilot even looked up a plane ticket to Hawaii, but now she can't get ahold of him to find out if there is an actual invitation. Any info would be appreciated.
Yes, they will actually send out a conditional offer/ training invitation letter.

Updates from training. CRQflyer and I just finished ground and sim.

In short, it's a mini 121 ground school, but a lot more relax from what I heard from my 121 friends. The instructor want you to succeed; and if you follow the training well, there is no doubt that you will come out fine.

Quick tip, brush up the instrument skills and get more familiar with G1000.

And they do have "standby" pilots now, which is same as the reserve for 121. Don't exactly know how long tho.

Any question plz just post here, so that everyone can see.

Do you know if they are full on the LAX location? I applied few weeks ago and got no reply. I indicated I will have 500 TT by the end of the month due to planned flights.

They are flooded by the FO resumes, we have 2 CA based FO in June class and 1 captain. From what I heard CA is barely staffed now, but after the addition of those 3 pilots, I don't know if they will need more pilots.

"“A much-needed grant for help with return of air service to the Inyokern Airport has been approved.

Mokulele Airlines sent us a letter on June 23 stating they want to start offering service, starting with three flights a day from here to Los Angeles International Airport,” he said.
Seymour said was “stoked” about the return of air service.

“When we lost air service in 2013, we were all really disappointed,” he said. “We knew it wouldn’t be easy to bring it back, but now it looks like we’re on on our way back.”

Indian Wells Valley Airport District Vice President Steve Morgan said he was also pleased to learn of the grant."

Now this brings back some fond memories from the old E120 days. Trying to fly IFR into there through the China Lake "corridors" and time windows. Constant no-joke severe turbulence during descent into 40 knot winds and trying to complete the 1 mile circling approach to RWY20 and not getting yelled at by Joshua approach for penetrating R-2505, all the while airport going in and out of sight with the blowing dust. Tumbleweeds pummeling the aircraft on the runway after basically crash landing in the hellacious winds and then seeing a couple race-cars on the short runway. Then follow up with a 20 minute van ride to Ridgecrest and the Carriage Inn for the overnight, complete with green shag carpet and duck wallpaper in the bathrooms. Ahhhh the glory......have fun with this one!

Sounds like everyday weather at JHM and OGG for Mokulele, although I'm not sure the China Lakes area gets as many rainbows...

the guys from Hawaii shouldn't have a problem here - the newbies sitting right seat, however...

Curious about being a direct entry captain. Anyone have the details on that? As well as pay? Thanks
