No commutable bases, most fly out of our Philly base.
Yes we are currently looking.
You have enough.

Usually look for pilots with at least 750 hrs. There is wiggle room for time as long as you have multi time and have/show strong IFR skills.

Survey is not for everyone. But if you want to build hours quickly and get paid pretty well it is worth it.

I currently have almost 600 hours and 34 multi. I'm currently doing aerial surveying but wouldn't mind a company for more a long term year round position as opposed to flying seasonal.

What would be the typical deployment?

Do you necessarily need to live in Philly?

Yes, Philly residence is pretty much required as when you are not deployed, you will either be using your personal vacation time or will be flying flights out of Philly.

As far as deployments, two options really...

You arrive to work at 7AM and they ask you if you have a bag packed and if it is with you because they need you and the plane in XXXXX. If you don't have it, you turn around and go get it...

Or

You will be told a few days out you will be going to XXXXX.

Once out, you could be out on the road for a single day or six months depending on the schedule and where you are needed. I was in Florida from 1/22 until 3/20 this year. When I first arrived at the company on 1/5, one of our conquests was leaving one 1/6 for what was supposed to be like a four day trip. They were still on the road on 1/22 when I left for Florida and I don't think they came back until almost February, if not into February. Also have heard of people going out for a day trip and being told to stay where they were for multiple days.
