Lot of over 60 guys failing their upgrades lately.

These are numbers going forward. But for 90 New Hires the Last 8 years is just depressing. With Hundreds retiring the same time frame. So we avg. 10 Hires a year? And please show me the numbers. I don't see 75 a year retiring mandatory the next 10 years. And even if it's true, are these numbers suppose to make up for the last 10? 10 years is 1/3rd of a Career!

And where is the MD replacement? This is why KLM retired it, no parts.
Boeing has said they will not support the MD after 2018. That's three years away. But Zero Orders. You do the math.

I have done the math. There is a seniority Excel spreadsheet available on the B&G...Sort by DOB and count the age 65 retirements the next 10 years...There are 750. I didn't say it made up for anything in the past...I just gave you the correct numbers...which you didn't have.

If you're going to vent fine...Now you have some facts to actually base your opinion on.

You may have done the math B2, but in my opinion UPS doesn't plan on running an airline for another 20 years. They aren't ordering aircraft because they won't need them. They aren't hiring pilots because they won't need them. Slowly retire aircraft and pilots and eventually you will end up with a hundred airplanes and a thousand pilots. Yes, I'm down on this place right now��

Well, you have some facts to go with your opinion too. I make no claims on how long the airline will hang around...I just ran the numbers for the next 10 years.

I do think the airline has peaked as far as pilots, but don't believe anything any management figure in SDF tell you about airline operations. Those guys have absolutely no clue what is actually going on or what is being planned. I was told to my face a few years back by the CHIEF PILOT of the airline we were not getting ANY new airplanes for at least ten years. Two weeks later, we made the order for new 76's. ATL makes all the decisions and rarely tells anyone in SDF what's going on.

All the new aircraft out there that can replace the MD11 wings are to long , and will not fit in World Port. Or so I've been told.

UPS can pay extra for a clipped wing version that burns more fuel !
