Only at UPS can you hire pilots and manage to move backwards and have a lower quality of life.....
Especially after this last bid right

Buddy just called me that got hired at FedEx. Told him he was better off. His upgrade to captain at FedEx will happen before we get the chance to here. Kinda sad.

Just wondering if UPS is getting the same number of applicants that they use to. I'm sure I already know the answer.

Very very low attrition. Zero Aircraft Orders.

Why do they need to Hire? The 25 a year Retirements have already been Hired for this year.

Unless a TA is coming this Fall with the $4500/yr A-Plan. Then we can see maybe 50 leave early.

More money will not increase retirements. CAs make 300K, I know several. They will leave when they are forced out. Age 60 for full retirement should be your target for those who are thinking about staying married or knowing their children/grandchildren. Perhaps demonstrating the ability to exit via the cockpit window would increase retirements.

My guess is that the "pool" is empty because of the few they hired, and many others were hired by a real airline.

So perhaps they are re-filling the pool to be ready for next year.

It's not a pool anymore it's called a swamp and filled with future Nurps

I'm sure someone forced to retire before the new contract is signed will try to sue the IPA for retro pay, the improved A-plan, etc.

I think we will see maybe 5 leave early!

It sure is too bad some of these old bastards that were hired in 1988 ( the year UPS started flying their own planes ) don't have a hobby & they would retire. I'm 50 yrs old & have been @ UPS for 20 yrs, I can't even imagine staying in this job for another 15 yrs.

They won't need to. They are contractually owed any retro pay for time worked. Every contract so far has been that way, but hey, it's more fun to spew your frustrations out at your senior IPA brothers, eh? BTW, that includes "signing bonus" as well. You might try directing your anger and frustration toward the real source of your angst. Or not.
