Quote: That's true. It does "unsell" itself.

Speaking of fairness, I don't always act juvenile around here, which is what I feel you are implying. And I am hardly the only one who can act that way.

Fwiw, a far better approach...to me...would be to say something like...

"SayAlt, you are clearly a savvy and well-spoken guy. I think you would be far more effective sticking to the facts than engaging in what I see as juvenile responses. I, for one, would take you far more seriously if you did, and I want to do that. We NEED your voice here, just not the antics."

This is what I feel you are genuinely trying to say. But instead you attempted shaming. I dont' respond well to shaming. At all. Especially when I don't feel I have anything to be ashamed of.

Can I claim that for future replies? If I were you I would copyright it. But it is well said.

I think I'm going to bow out of these discussions for now and go into read only mode.

Quote: And 4 other reps said they didn't like the TA, but they wanted the pilots to turn it down.

It never should have passed, but for the hard sell Donatelli gave them.

Now it's up to US to send it back.

Timbo,
The question at the MEC vote was not "are you in favor of the TA" but "are you in favor of sending to the membership for a vote".

A big difference..

i don't think pilots will see any difference at all. Those reps know that most pilots elect THEM to make the best decisions and will (in many cases) vote by trusting what their rep has done. ALL reps know that. Therefore any rep that was against this TA, but voted to send it to his members anyway, is far worse than a YES voting rep that believes the TA is the world's greatest TA.

So why have an MEC vote at all?

What is the purpose of having LEC Representatives if not to Represent the Will of their Pilots?

If they don't know what their pilots will or will not accept, are they doing their job? No, they are passing the buck.

If this TA were truly "Historic" in a good way, the MEC vote would have been 19-0 in favor and we'd all be singing and dancing right now. Instead we are going to the hardware store looking for pitchforks, tar, feathers and a rail.

You are correct, as usual and I agree. Yes they are passing the buck. EXACTLY what I heard from speaking to the ATL F/O rep. "Too much at stake for me to decide for you."

The purpose is to not overtly prove they are wholly OWNED by Delta management. These charades of a democracy are the hallmark of a fake, pretend Union. I've been referring to DALPA this way for over a year now, and it's not a gratuitous swipe. They don't work for us. They don't represent us. Their interests are management's interests. If we vote this TA down, the charade goes away and that's not what DALPA has promised Richard. They promised Richard that labor risk was completely off the table. If labor risk gets put on the table, Richard will hold Donatelli personally responsible. Thus Donatelli's raging rant.

It's all just theater now. Step 1 to becoming a real Union again is voting this down. Many more steps to follow.
