Quote: See kids, that's what 18 months on reserve will do to a guy.

Fixed it for you!

LOL! The laughs keep rolling nonstop around here without fail!

Nah, don't blame it on reserve! Not it's fault this time! Poor old reserve always gets the blame whether it's at fault or not. I've always been this way! Nothing wrong with calling bullsh!t sometimes.

Some people have no respect for the cold hard. They down play the good sh!t and play up the bull sh!t!

You got one part right though: the "kids" here hear you and back you 100%. The adults? Not so much.

You've been here less than two years. Some of us have been here 7-8 years in the right seat and on reserve or working weekends most of that period. It's nothing personal towards you new guys, but I think most of us lost our pom poms somewhere around year 4. Should I be stuck here long enough to upgrade beers are on me for all my FO's. Until then I'll bid vacation month touching and enjoy my 90 days of vacation a year. Bottom feeder regionals can su(k it.

Quote: Don't study before starting the class, they will guide you. The training is 5 days of basic indoc, 8 days of systems, 3 days of GEN OPS and 10 sessions of simulator. You will have FTD sessions, a written test and oral/procedures exam. After all of that, finally, simulator. Don't think it will be fast because they give you some days off, go prepared to stay in training for 7 to 8 weeks. You will have opportunities to go home but I don't recommend, unless you have something urgent, because you will have low seniority and that can be a pain in the a@$% depending on what city you will commute from. If you need more info just PM me.
Bad advice.

Limitations, immediate action items for emergencies and start faults should be committed to memory before you start training. Makes training a lot easier.

Just curious; for a possible upgrade this October, what was your hire date?

Im 25. From what i was told, I'll be the youngest in my class haha. I understand that there are pro's and con's to every company. Many will complain even if they get paid 10x more than they should. It happens.

Not really worried about being on reserves. Everyone has to do it. Its better than working in some nuts and bolts factory. My buddy has been hold a line for the most part and has only been with the company for a about 3 months out of training. So should be interesting on what pans out for me.

Another question; I was talking with a past ExpressJet pilot, he said they are going to EFB. Surface 3's?? How soon is this going to be brought on line. I have an offer from a friend for a leather chart bag.. one that was purchased from the company. He said he paid 150 but will sell it for 75. Is it worth it? If they go EFB then i won't need it, how soon till they go electronic.

This....is why there will never be a pilot shortage...there are thousands of folks that share this same sentiment.

SilentB25...you likely don't understand my post now, but down the road...look it up again....it'll make sense.
