"Your" should be "You're". Also, there should be a "." after intelligent.

I agree, this guy has yet to put together a complete sentence. The moderators need to start deleting all these threads asking where should I go started by people who either can't read or are too lazy to take the time to read through all the information that has been posted 100 times over in other threads. Here's a newsflash, nothing has changed at Republic in the last week since the last person who was too lazy to research the same questions you asked started a new thread.

Quote: Yes I have ATP minimums, have and interview scheduled the middle of this month. They also have a job fair at ORD this Friday. Would you suggest that I go even though I have and ticket to Salt Lake.? Could they hire me at the job fair?

Quote: Do you think I should attend the Skywest job fair at ORD or just interview in salt lake?
Quote: Is it really that easy, I'd rather stay here and interview her vs salt lake. Interview be the same material?

You asked the same question FOUR TIMES in three hours. Reminds of a little kid in the store asking for the same toy over and over and over. Sheesh.

Quote: Hey Nantonaku- I HAVE done my research, and in fact spent a lot more than an hour. NOW I'm looking for the Professional Pilots opinion and an honest answer which was given until your post. if you read my original post, NO SARCASM PLEASE. It's people like you that give these threads a bad name. Thanks for your help.
You've gotten opinions from many professional pilots. The trouble is you just didn't like them. If you're going to get this butt hurt over a little sarcasm and razzing, you are in for a long and miserable career. Also, had you in fact done your research, you would have realized how completely useless a thread like this is. You want someone to make your mind up for you. We get it. Just buy a magic eight-ball next time and be done with it. Wait, I forgot you don't like sarcasm...

Quote: I just find it humorous that you would even state that you didn't want sarcasm. Don't you know where you have posted this question?

If you HAVE done your research then this thread is damn near not necessary and IMO can just be deleted.
Agreed.

Quote: Thanks for taking the time to post your worthless opinion

Well, there you have it. Seems like a winner wherever he/she ends up.

Agreed. There is a difference between asking specific questions and seeking clarification about a company (AKA research) and just starting a thread that is little more than a poll for people who need their decision made for them.

hahaha! This made me laugh.

I spent a year at Republic, great crew's... but it blows. I left to fly a King Air, I hated it that much.

Republic is a wonderful place - don't listen to the rest of these folk who hate it. The privileged few who pass the interview process get to enjoy capped fourth year pay, an industry leading contract from almost two decades ago, and shiny jets that can be chair flown in Nevada. If you don't like being able to pay your bills, enjoy paying union dues which offer you no protection in most situations, and would like to be a part of a pilot group who have been terrorized and demoralized, this is definitely the place for you! Make sure you have internal recommendations, because it is very difficult to get in. How lucky we have such a caring CEO who mentioned our name on TV to show his love.

God Bless

+1. go ahead and dream for that contract to pass anytime soon also. Some people have waited years hoping that the pay would go up. It's not going to. Nothing has been voted in and it's not even eligible to be voted on. All the hype you hear is nothing. It's hearsay. When it's concrete that you will make that pay then think about it. Right now it's a pipe dream. You might as well go somewhere else. Hoping for pay that will never come. This place will abuse you more than you could ever imagine for that amount of money. I hope you move to your base too. Otherwise your screwed. Look elsewhere....

You'll take the job, stay there a year, realize it was a huge mistake, torture yourself over whether or not to leave, meanwhile your buddies are upgrading to Captain, and you have set your career back a good solid year, allthewhile angry and blameful.
LOL that's the truth... My thoughts exactly and exactly what a lot of us thought and did. It's a cycle. That's how they recruit. There's so many FOs leaving I don't see how they will ever fix it. Ask all the FOs leaving...

Exactly! I would not plan on seeing a contract until the pilots are released by the NMB, which will not be this year. I believe BB is prepared to take republic into Ch11 so he doesn't have to give a good contract. Great crews at RAH, but he worst management in the business!

Whether he gives a good contract or doesn't really is irrelevant. There are no good options for Republic.

Contract or no contract, RAH is headed for Bankruptcy. Bankruptcy will equal stagnation which is never a good thing. Months or years on end at the bottom is a horrible existence.

SkyWest does, in my opinion, have the best employee/management relationship in the industry. Endeavor seems to offer the highest pay but envoy and Piedmont have the flow to AA*.

You want to choose an airline with movement but that is relative at all the regionals with limited new hires.

When looking at pay, be sure to consider cancellation protections and rigs. The pay rate is not really a true indicator compensation. I have friends at RAH that have a pay rate of $4-5 an hour more than me but I take home more money due to line guarantee and cancellation pay. I generally get paid 15-20 hours a month for flying I don't actually do.

Get a hold of the actual sequences at these companies and look at what your actual schedule will be like. The truth is, there is no quick fast lane to the majors. No matter were you go, it will take time for you to get competitive experience. Flying "commutable" trips even as a local has a huge effect on your QOL in the mean time. For instance, any airline that has outstation basing, like RAH, have fewer commutable trips than a company that is based at the hubs.

*Consider a regional airline with a 2 years upgrade. How long will it take you to get 2,000 hrs of PIC after you upgrade? Probably about 3 years. How many mainline new hires get hired with 5,000 hr total and 2,000 PIC? Not many. United has the lowest "competitive" time and its average new hire has 7,000 TT and 4,000 PIC. If eny or pdt can really get the flow down to 6 years, by the time you are competitive for any of the 3 major airlines, you could be flowing. You don't have to go to AA but it is nice to have that guarantee while you are applying to the other two.
