Default Republic new hire

So I have a class date in October for Republic. I understand there are A LOT of issues going on between the pilots and management over the proposed contract. Is this a contract that could potentially be resolved in a reasonable amount of time? If not and bankruptcy is a possibility what would that do to a new hire?

I'm also thinking that if the contract is resolved and Republic is one of the higher paid regionals pilots will apply and make my seniority number much better in a short period of time.

What are you thoughts on this? no need for sarcasm. I'm trying to be better educated and make good choices for my family.

Pardon me for being so naive but why walk away and look elsewhere?

There's a reason we at Mesa and other regionals have a steady stream of RAH refugees coming in. Those who I know from there enjoy life starting over at Mesa a whole lot more than at Republic. You'll never know for sure until you jump in.

I see what you're saying, and I'd personally be asking the same questions if I were in your shoes. The short answer is it is a pure gamble. Rah management has made no effort to bargain in good faith for 8 years. If they magically started, rah could be a great place to work. It's always best to be at the front of their line. However, I put those chances somewhere between 0 and 0.

How difficult is it to get hired by them?

Not at all if you have ATP mins. This goes for any regional. Regional pilots are a commodity, dont sell yourself short but going to a sub par airline.
