Darn it! That's why my 401k has only made over 12% this last year.

Forgive the necro-post, but I was just searching out some old 401k topics and came across this.

FWIW, since 1/2016 (when this thread was started) my 401k rate of return is 56.4%, so...

I flew with a guy recently who went all cash since just prior to the ‘16 election, because he was just as confidently clairvoyant as the OP. That move has literally cost his family hundreds of thousands of dollars.
