Does the equipment you fly have a large effect on the scheduling?

It can...if you are flying a larger RJ (such as an EMB-170 or CR7) you may get put on larger stage lengths, lowering your total number of legs during a trip.

On the last day each time you go through SEA you have to clear customs, with all your bags, crap and such. Makes for a very very long day.

Quote: Holy schnikes, 7:40 sit? Does your company at least give you a hotel for that??

Yeah, contractual obligation. I think we have a sit of more than 4 hours, they have to get us a room.

Quote: Depending on what year pay you are on (I rounded credit to 23 hours, instead of 22:58). Also, credit would most likely be around 25-26 hours because of overblocking, but here it is:

yr| FO | CA |.| Credit | Hourly Pay + Per diem = Total
1 | $24 | --- | 23 hrs | $552 + $125 = $677
2 | $35 | --- | 23 hrs | $805 + $125 = $930
3 | $37 | --- | 23 hrs | $831 + $125 = $976
4 | --- | $63 | 23 hrs | $1449 + $125 = $1574
5 | --- | $65 | 23 hrs | $1495 + $125 = $1620

There ya go.
Wow $677 for 4 days work.... I need to keep on saving no way I can live on that.

Goodness man, how many financial obligations do you have?

First year pay isn't easy by any stretch of the imagination but I was able to pay all my bills on time and even save a few grand...

A lot currently. Although I will be done with school loans quickly. I only have $10k left. I do pay more than I need on these things so I can kick more towards the principle. It's not the paying the bills I'm worried about. It's the rainy day that hits and I'm not ready for it. Should I be injured or very ill or something financially goes haywire (furlough) I'd like to still have some reserves to fall back on. I hate paycheck to paycheck living. It's so stressful.
