Quote: they had a brown nose and no other life outside of ERAU and associated clubs.
And they will be senior to their peers. Forever.

The "game" has not changed in the last several thousand years. Some are born with a better starting position, others are better at playing it, and still others are the recipient of pure dumb luck.

Any way you slice it there are multiple paths up the mountain.

In my new hire class 16.5 years ago there were 5 guys that were 24 years old. None of them minorities. None of them sons of UAL parents. Keep up with your excuses though. Says way more about you than it does about anyone that falls into one of the categories you're spewing about.

ERAU guys network well. I would call it the "Friends of Fred Club" of the aviation college world.

That's really the key. There are indeed multiple paths.....

I have known some who had it all, financially speaking, but didn't have the drive and determination to see it through.

I came from very humble means, but I think that had something to do with my drive and determination to find a path, and where there was none, I made one. Same goes for that mountain. go over it, under it, or around it.

I respect anyone who gets here. It takes work. Same goes for our military guys/gals. I Even the rich kids with the silver spoons. They still had to make the grade. Although I would really appreciate it if they would offer me a ride in their Porche sometime.

After 25 years in this business, I finally got some German metal. Loving my VW wagon!

Had a guy in a class a couple ahead of me hired at 22 (1978). Fully qualified. Had a certificate from the FAA that he could trade in for an ATP on his 23 birthday. He will retire #1.

I had 4000 hours by my 24th birthday. Have the "minority" boxes checked. Have a Bachelor's Degree. Have over 8000TT and 1200 TPIC, current jet captain, job fairs, and still not a peep. This isn't the 60's/70's anymore.

I hardly think that checking boxes has anything to do with it nowadays. Not to mention flight time correlation with age. Some of us just like to fly.

That remark says a lot about the character of the person who posted the "checked boxes" remark. Stay classy.

Almost every intern I ever met was from Riddle. Like I said, they network well.
