I was wondering if you currently work for Cape Air? I'm a senior at UND and I guess there is an internship opportunity with Cape Air for the summer to be a First Officer of a C-402. I was wondering if you had any more information about that.

Yes I do work for Cape Air. We are looking to hire pilots for the Cessna 402. The internship position is to serve as a 402 first officer. The regs require an FO if the PIC has less than 100 PIC in a 400 series Cessna when operating on an IFR flight plan. We take pilots from ERAU and DWC to usually serve in these roles. We are continung to sign Internship Agreements with other Universities. There are other opportunities available. Please go to flycapeair.com and click on pilot jobs. Fill out a resume so we can put you in the database. I will be attending the career fair at UND in April, please stop by and say hello. Also the intern position is paid at the greater of $7.80 a duty hour or $15.60 a flight hour. If you fly a lot you get the higher, if it is a slow week you still get paid, but at the lower rate. You can think of it as "punching a time clock". If you work more than 40 duty hours a week you get time and a half after 40. Sounds confusing, but it is really simple and works well. Thanks for your interest.

Capn Sack -
Thanks for all the information. I was also wondering what is the average amount of hours that the interns fly a week? I was also wondering if Cape Air assisted the interns in finding a place to live for the summer or are they on their own? Thanks again.

I flew for for CA between July 96 and April 98. It was a great company when I was there and probably still is. I left for a corporate job that I am still in.

Things are great. I fly for a company that has 2 Citation 10's and a Citation 7. We just bought a huge company that has a new G550, Citation10 and Lear 45. We are now a fortune 15 flight dept. Were you at Cape Air prior to 98?

Capn Sac, how firm are they on the 300TT for the internship? I'm a current junior at DWC with 235TT and part-time CFI there.

Thanks.
