Two buds and myself had/will have interviews in February (specifically 2/5, 2/6, and 2/19). They told us our DB would be mid-March (like 3/20) and then I heard a rumor there may be a DB on 3/7. Anybody have any better scoop on when our Decision Board(s) will be?

BTW-For those interested, the three of us were all military fighter types with turbine PIC time from 1301-2700 hrs. We got our types at Higher Power on 22 Dec 06 and got calls for interviews in mid-January.

I interviewed 2/7 and was told late March for the DB as well, no chatter from the rest of the guys/gals I was there with about a different DB date.

FWIW: Here's a summary I've heard of DB gouge (source and date):

SWA People Dept (2/5): Interviews beginning 2/5 and beyond will go to a mid-March DB.

SWA Asst Chief Pilot (2/14): Interviews on 2/5 and after will not go to the Feb 20th DB.

SWA 2/6 interviewee with gouge from unidentified source (2/15): There may be two DBs in March. One on 3/7 and one on 3/20.

SWA 2/5 interviewee with gouge from unidentified source (2/18): If SWA can complete the packet, background checks, etc you may go to the 2/20 DB.

 

Interviewed Feb-2006, along with 11 others. Out of the 12, 9 were mil.
Unfort., I wasn't selected (2 mil, 1 Air Tran). Has been a year now, have updated my app. and hoping to get called again.
Curious about the process you recently underwent as I'm hearing its changed some since ours.
We had 3 - 1v1 interviews, current Cap., retired Cap., and an admin.
Then a 7 min. LOI with a scenario.
SW went WELL out of their way to make us comfortable and feel right at home, the experience was pleasurable. Although you had no clue as to how you did. Came away thinking.. could have been better or worse.
Then spent the following 2 weeks thinking.. why didn't I answer this or that in another way.
Our DB was the following month and phone calls were out the next day. Following Sat., everyone received their "thanks but no thanks and you can come back in a year" letter.
Any gouge on the process you guys went through recently?

Your description of the process is pretty much spot on, there was a guy in my group that was in for his second try, (1 yr 2 mos I believe) He said that the LOI had been changed slightly, but he didn't elaborate much. As advertised it was a very positive experience, just waiting now.

I interviewed Feb 6 and have heard 3/7 from several of my fellow interviewees who have friends at SWA. At the interview they said mid to late March also.

Another rumor was, that they make look at some interview groups in Feb for the Feb 20th DB.

It's all rumors, but I think the 3/7 DB seems possible, since that exact date has been confirmed by several different sources.

C17MD, I know one of the boys in your 2/6 interview. That was where I got my rumint on a possible 3/7 DB. Not saying it isn't a possibility, but there's a chance we may be getting into that "Self-Perpetuating Rumor" territory. Hope I'm wrong, cuz I would really love a phone call anytime now...like right...NOW...or...NOW...<sigh>..the phone is silent.

Anyway, I just talked with a bud who interviewed today (2/19). He basically said they told him mid-March also.

Oh well, if nothing else, all this speculation gives us something to do until we get the phone call!!

There is only one DB in March: 3/20

but....please don't let this stop any of you from posting your own (and possibly different) intel. Nothing I'd like better than to be wrong and get a phone call from SWA right....NOW...or....NOW!! Oh well, time to go for a run or something.
