CRJ - DTW Flying
How is flying the CRJ out of Detroit? What’s a typical schedule, layover, legs, etc.. Does Detroit fly CRJ2, 7 & 9 and how does the company go about assigning which one you fly or do you fly all 3 on any given day? I believe it’s all the same type rating right?
Any info is great. Thanks

Yes, same type rating (CL-65).
Yes, you can fly all 3 on one day, but it would not be originally scheduled that way. The CRJ-700 and CRJ-900 are scheduled as though they are one aircraft, but the CRJ-700 is a rarity around here and is only used on our routes to MDW, SCE, and occasionally TVC. The CRJ-200 has its own trips and typically does only EAS flying. If the base grows again, the CRJ-200 flying will grow once again.
The rough numbers for trip types:
70% 3- and 4-day trips
30% 1- and 2-day trips
We fly all over, from up and down the east coast (except Florida) and all the way west until you reach Colorado. It's difficult to specify much more than that because the city pairs are so variable from month to month.
