Don't let them say, "you can't take a vacation because we are undermanned". Don't let them treat you like a criminal because you called in sick! This concept that I will tuff out the abuses for a season because I want to go the majors is myopic! Many have chosen SkyWest as a career and need to know they won't go to a checkride and get canned because some instructor or manager doesn't like their personality. Make no mistake, the only reason SkyWest pilots have what they have today is because of unionized labor raising the bar in the industry.

SkyWest pilots need to unionize, otherwise you'll keep drinking the same old Kool-Aid from management! Please don't tell me you have some in house organization that protects your interests, blah, blah blah.

If they get the union drive spooled up they’ll probably all get another good raise

Just Chiming in here again after just getting through the program.

I passed my checkride today in Atlanta! I honestly thought the instructors were awesome. I learned a lot and used two extra sessions. One for Maneuvers and the other for LOFT. Each instructor said they wouldn't sign anyone off unless you were showing progress and you were confident that you can pass a validation. (Which i agree with)

There were a few times where i made small mistakes that probably would end up getting you canned, but anyway I was 100% confident with call outs, profiles and approaches after the extra sessions and got through it with no issues.

There was one person that that sounds like didn't make it through, out of 48.

Then get a hobby and enjoy retirement. Most of what you wrote is nonsense. And I work for an ALPA carrier.

What class were you in? Mine was the 2/12 start and I believe we had 5 out of 47 (4 upgrades) either drop or wash out.

I would agree about the instructors. I didn't have any that I wouldn't recommend, they were all solid guys.
The training footprint works.. as long as you put in the effort. 100% would recommend the program.

For the CRJ? I can’t remember what day it started. I think CTP was the 18th and ground was March 1st. As far as I know all the captains made it through and the one FO that dropped out due to an illness and another FO that’s close to dropping out bc they failed the GV on the 1st attempt and they had to wait for the next sim class to come through

Then you don't work here, and if you did things are sliding down hill. We deserve real representation, SAPA isn't it.
