Seriously. When it comes to circling the bowl for the lowest fee, you guys never disappoint to set the bar even lower. You've enjoyed all the benefits that the major unions have gotten, to include KCM, yet you contribute nothing to the cause. The fact you are around is anathema to the profession and our organizations. Your product sucks and the only reason you are still here is that you underbid all the rest on contracts. Because you all accept to work for crap wages and crap work rules; yet continue pat yourselves on the back thinking you're the greatest. We should have gutted you with scope long ago. I'm ALPA from 2 majors. Recently early retired. I saw what the swarm of RJs did to my first airline gig back circa 2000ish. This industry changes fast. CC's motus operandi is not a secret. The best you can do for yourselves is to organize. Join the rest of the team. There's also a reason many pilots at other airlines accuse us of "drinking the Kool-aid." It's supposed to be some kind of insult, but it's very telling. Many/most of us are happy and enjoy our jobs here. With their experiences with their airlines, they can't imagine that's possible at a regional, so there must be some mind control/magic/drugs involved. It's one of the reasons I chose to come to SkyWest over other regionals who were offering several 10s of thousands of dollars in bonuses. There are several other good regionals out there and which is best for you depends a lot on where you live or want to live. But if I have to go to a new company, I want to go to the one where everyone is drinking the Kool-aid (is happy). |
Being an ALPA carrier on the regional side did nothing for Xjt compass or TSA. Save the Union dues deduction and buy your mom something nice for her birthday. ALPA is not a union. It’s an association. Large difference

I was just going to let this go because it's so obviously a troll post intended to rile everyone up. But for any pilots out there still looking to go into the regionals (in a year or two probably), and thinks this guy might be serious, he's either trolling or he knows about as much as anyone who hasn't been at a regional in a very, very, very long time. There are a lot of reasons why SkyWest was one of the only regionals that didn't need to offer a new hire bonus over the last few years to attract pilots. I'll give you a hint: It wasn't because we are all scum suckers with low pay and QoL.

There are reasons why airlines are offering bonuses because they want to attract the best qualified and most likely to succeed. Skywest relies on their large network of domiciles to attract pilots. Offering little to no commute works very well for recruiting. |
If you think pilot quality and bonus size are positively correlated I suggest looking at who paid the largest bonuses in 2019. They aren’t.

OO can organize or not. I don’t care, but until the OO pilot group stops riding the coat tails and starts contributing to the advancement of the profession that union pilots give everyday. I, and most pilots for that matter, will continue to have no respect and make OO the joke of the industry. |
