Netflix I can see... lot of bandwidth, remember they probably run all station IT functions off that same pipe.

Netflix verses blogs is approximately four orders of magnitude worth of bandwidth difference. And while a business case can be made to justify looking at blogs, it's a pretty difficult to do the same for watching Netflix.

What is the best way to prepare ahead of time for your class date? I have a late Oct CTP and an early Nov CRJ class. I am planning to start Sheppard Air a week or so ahead of the CTP class but any recommendations on other areas to focus on?

From the sounds of it I will not be receiving any aircraft-specific training material ahead of time but want to make sure I am using my time beforehand wisely. At this point my plan is brushing up using ASA's Turbine Pilot's Flight Manual and Everything Explained for the Professional Pilot; along with keeping up my IFR proficiency.

Any other areas or resources you could recommend would be much appreciated!

The priority is passing the ATP written. Period. Nothing else matters unless that happens. Good choice with Sheppard. The weakest area I see is an understanding of Aerodynamics. If you have extra time, make sure you have a good understanding of the basics. Especially high altitude stuff.

Pass the ATP, nothing else matters if you don’t put 100% effort into that. CTP is not going to help you pass the written at all. A bunch of guys in my class were studying Sheppard air during the class time. Use Sheppard the way they recommend, understand the concept, but you’ll recognize the correct answer when you actually see it on game day.

Enjoy CTP, it is the last step before you get the firehose treatment at the schoolhouse. It’s pretty much all death by PowerPoint and videos you’ve probably already seen. The sims were fun, that’s the last fun you’ll have for awhile!

They were hard at work writing that one email to the TSA. SAPA saved us all.

What I was trying to communicate was now blog users can be identified. Tinfoil hat.

What happen to the recent thread criticizing SAPA's lack of effectiveness that was started this morning?

Two page thread mysteriously disappeared.

Two page thread got super salty really quick. It kind of turned into pick on OO pilots.

However bad you think the teeth or hair of OO pilots might be, note that many are trying to unionize, and coming off like a union jerk doesn't help.

Go ahead and pick on SAPA, though.

TSA: "We're changing KCM."
SAPA: "I love lamp."

But we already have a union! It’s a better deal for us because the company pays for it. We don’t need ALPA!
