I'm looking for insider insight into why DTW is the OO junior base from anyone willing to share. Is it all 15-hour min cred days that just suck your soul away in the grind? A city that's just seen better days and isn't desirable? One of my criteria is living in base so I wouldn't be a commuter, but nor would I want to get locked into a location where I hate going to work everyday. I'd appreciate the good, bad, and ugly, thanks!

And yet, just 20-30 minutes away, are some of the best suburbs that this country has to offer.

No one is actually advocating for living *in* the city of Detroit. That's beyond asinine.

How is the flying in DTW vs. MSP, specially if you are in the more junior half of line holders? It looks like a mix of 200 and 7/9 and 4-5 leg days, etc. either way.

But, would one vs. the other have what is considered “better” trips not considering the city itself as a place to live? Let’s assume bidding in the lower 65-70% or so.

This is what I know and I wasn't going to spoil the secret. I was hoping people would put the flying on blast if it was utter garbage and that's why it's so junior. I take the silence as most don't know or care because they don't stick around long enough to find out.

No, what you consider good this month will probably not be there next month as the pairings come up with different solutions every month.

I would say MSP had some longer leg 900 stuff out west and Canada but most of that has shifted over to the 175.

What are your thoughts on DTW as a base long term for SkyWest? With Delta saying they plan SkyWest to be their primary west coast carrier, and each of the three Delta regional carriers operating in certain regions of the country, is it possible SkyWest leaves DTW and Endeavor takes the base?

I don't know what OO's plans are but 9E announced they will be growing DTW and they already have a crew base there and I think some of the new 900's or the G7 planes will go there. It was pretty clear about OO going west though so my guess DTW probably won't be a huge focus for them for long.

All that going west is the ERJ. DTW is one of OOs largest CRJ bases, not a fortune teller but don’t see it going anywhere.
