This dates all the way back to an intercepted email from Skywest JS Chair (now at Southwest) and the current SAPA President in August 2018 that was attempting to get as many airlines as they could to help them deny jumpseats to United pilots. They sought the help of IPA, SWAPA, several Teamsters divisions and as many ALPA regionals as they could. A strongly worded letter was returned advising them of what their actions entailed and the causal effects accordingly. UALPA got wind of it from one of the independent unions and pretty much told them not to go there...simple as that.

Now here we are 14 months later and the current SAPA President took his pilots down a road of misinformation and immaturity in regards to most of their pilots not knowing the efforts dating back to 1996 when Delta and Atlantic Southwest Airlines had no reciprocity and the beginning of the committed efforts to never allow the JS to be used as a tool or political weapon. The battles fought and won for FAR 121.547 etc.

The pilots that participated in this should be considered only slightly above the lowest level within our profession which we all know is the SCABs. Never thought the day would happen in my career that I would ever deny a fellow jumpseater (other than a scab) but moving forward you can guarantee a Skywest pilot will never ride my JS ever again.

To immediately go nuclear on the first action to only cave and sign the agreement that has been in-front of them for the last 15-18 months only shows their immaturity, lack of unionism, and professionalism as flight deck crew members. I truly hope to never see another Skywest new hire at United but then I don't get to decide that.

All this did was facilitate a hatred between two pilot groups and get nothing for the effort but a total cave in in a matter of less than a week. In reality 3 days. You guys/gals gained nothing for this ignorant act.

All of them? Even though 99% were along for the ride and probably didn't even have anyone from UA on the JS while this was going on?

What if they the start denying UA folks because of YOU?

Maybe I should ban you from my JS just because.

Yeah, that's probably not realistic.
