At least it wasn't a ransomware attack like the Colonial pipeline suffered earlier this year, but I think this just shows that any industry is vulnerable to IT outages/attacks....

Actually that's not necessarily true, you just have to spend the money for security and redundancy. Airlines seem to prefer not to invest much in IT, and so we see a catastrophic failure take down somebody's flight schedule about once a year.

You don't see large banks having that scale of problem, or nuclear power plants. Fortunately our safety-of-flight systems seem to be immune so far.
