First Officer Pay Rates
Year 1: $90.00 – Increase 92.2% Year 2: $93.10 – Increase 79.1% Year 3: $95.20 – Increase 66.6% Year 4: $97.30 – Increase 65.9% Year 5: $99.40 – Increase 66.6% Year 6: $101.50 – Increase 67.3% Year 7: $103.60 – Increase 68.0% Year 8: $105.00 – Increase 67.6% - 750 121 Turbine Time upgrade bid incentive (pay rate $144) REMOVED. If I was to downgrade back to FO, with my seniority less than 4 years, I could bid Locals for the entire month that pay over 7.5 hours of credit. Which would place me in a position to make 120k a year with 18 days off each month. These new pay rates for FO’s and loss of upgrade incentive for a company in desperate need for Captains foreshadows the next big announcement… FORCED UPGRADES, get ready. SGU tried to play nice and offer a bone to upgrade, but most FO's just wanted the money now. So be prepared for the end result. |

BINGO! Q: Why is there no captain upgrade incentive? A: Because upgrading is no longer a choice. "You will report to Denver on XX/XX/20XX and you will upgrade to captain. If you fail, well, SEE YA!" |

I’ve been out flying the line these last few weeks. The feedback I’ve received from the FO’s I’ve had the pleasure to work with have been complaints surrounding pay rates only. Nothing about how excited they are to make $144 per hour as SIC (oh, you have to place your upgrade bid in as “any”, such a tragedy). Not a word about better QOL. You don’t have QOL issues in the right seat after about a year seniority, so I don’t knock them for not giving af. The lack of motivation with the upcoming generation of pilots just a few years younger than me is real. Some won’t have to prove they can even hold the responsibility of PIC. That’s because not some, but all mainline hiring departments are under the illusion that any past leadership position holds the same value as being in command of an aircraft operating under part 121. I’ve held multiple volunteer “leadership” positions and it’s a night and day comparison to the leadership position of being an Airline Captain. But hey, I don’t write the rules. If they start forcing upgrades, which I believe they will, it is what it is. SGU attempted to play nice. |

You just explained how important leadership is and then you said you're going to vote yes... I guess your leadership style is "do what I say, not what I do"? Why not be a real leader and vote no when it really counts? |

TA 2.0 does not have any language referencing forced upgrades. I’m only speculating forced upgrades are a likely path. This contract benefits waiting to upgrade, which is why I said it “encourages” downgrades. That’s not claiming anyone will be allowed to downgrade, unless some unfortunate circumstances arise. They removed the EFB reflow policy. That’s why I was originally a hard “no” vote. How does my “yes” vote equate to “do what I say, not what I do”? I’m not telling anyone how to vote. |
Wait 10 years for the 401k, what a joke.
