SkyWest Cadet

Rookie question,

I'm on the SkyWest cadet program and just got an offer to start the training in Feb 2023 on E175. Being a cadet, would I get my preferred base (MSP) right away after the training? if not, how long would I have to wait to get the MSP base ?

Being a cadet won't help you with base selection, other than the fact that you might have a slightly higher seniority # than others within your own class if it comes down to 2 people wanting 1 open spot.
That being said - MSP is attainable either right of training, or within a month or 2. Looking at the current list, it looks like some people at the bottom there are either currently on IOE, or just finished.

Thanks! They might have something earlier, but I don't have my minimums yet. That's why they put me for Feb.

I appreciate the information.

No one can predict with certainty but it is one of the more junior bases. ,

You’ll likely get your base of choice as soon as you get hired by a ULCC before starting in feb.
