A truckload of 200’s that will only live as long as the truckloads of CF34-3’s that shove them around. These engines aren’t economically overhaulable. The sun is setting on the 200’s.

200’s are easy to park (owned) and easy to use for parts. 175’s and dome 700/900’s still have payments. Need to keep them flying.. not sure how big “charter” will get. But I'm guessing 20ish 200’s…

Since when has the CF-34 become not economically reasonable to overhaul?

engines are not the problem…. Customer satisfaction, EICAS screens and just general age is going to be the factor. Flying them 135 will stretch there life out. (Less legs a day and on demand charters). Pilot shortage won’t help also..

Since engine overhaul costs started exceeding one million (per engine) as hull values dropped below a half million.

For the CRJ-700/900, sure. But on the 200? That's not going to be cheap.

It's a drop in, plug and play replacement. CRT's are not the reason the 200 is dying.

“The TFD-4000 completed FAA certification in early March. Deliveries to SkyWest are expected to begin mid-2022.”

Did this actually start happening in 2022 or is SkyWest CRJ fleet still all-CRT?
