SkyWest getting 20 E175 from Mesa?

Well, United is in complete control of the situation now. Obvious the plan is to hopefully shrink Mesa into profitibility, which I think is going to be impossible given the landscape of the industry. Pilot issues aside, Mesa has a HUGE staffing problem of critical infrastructure. While everyone is hyper focused on a lack of pilots, Mesa has a huge problem with lack of people to run the operation. A quick look at their job postings will raise one's eyebrows.
This new development of United shifting its assets away from Mesa to OO will do nothing but increase attrition rates across the board in all departments. On the SkyWest side of things however, taking on 20 aircraft cosidering the lack of crews poses some issues too. Especially, when you have other partners that you cannot provide the block hours they want due to staffing. I cannot imagine that Delta specifically, is going to be too thrilled about it.

The writing is on the wall. The 50 seaters are all old. In 5 years or less they will go away, for all the regionals. Maybe EAS May be an exception.

It's never going away. When they park the last 175 in the desert to be salvaged, they'll deadhead the crew out on a clapped out 200 with a deferred APU.
