Tie required to jumpseat on Skywest?
I had a friend recently jumpseat on Skywest while wearing dress pants and a collared shirt. The captain made him change into his wrinkled uniform so he would be wearing his tie stating it was a United rule. Any truth to this rule? I'm asking because I plan to jumpseat on Skywest next month. I want to dress accordingly if this is all true.
Thanks.
Thanks.

No truth to this. If it is none of the rest of the 3500 pilots got the memo. If this actually happened he /she must be a 1% ter.

SKW and all partners specify biz casual or uniform.
At a bare minimum, biz casual means slacks (no jeans) and collared shirt. Technically you might be able to squeek by with sneakers, wrinkled dockers and some funky polo. If you push the boundaries, you're putting the CA on the spot...don't really want the pax wondering (and possibly complaining) why some shaggy, wrinkled dude rode in the cockpit. Safe bet would be real shoes, ironed pants, belt and either clean mono-color polo or button-down.
Odds are there's another side to this story
