From what I understand, they don't even look at rec letters until you are selected to interview. I didn't upload any, just hand carried a few to the interview. Once selected to interview, current employees can do online recommendations for you through the company network. As soon as you get the invite, ask folks you know at the company to do the online rec.

The reason they put this on there is primarily for military guys who can have lots of time in their logbook where they didn't sign for the plane but they are still acting as an instructor or evaluator. Yes, if you have instructor time in an airplane you can certainly count it, but sim time is just that...sim time. By all means, put your time in the sim on your resume as it is great experience and something worth talking about, but it isn't flight time. |
Piston Time
Here's another PilotCredentials question that's probably been asked but I can't find a answer to. Do I have a bunch of time in light piston aircraft. Does that go under the light piston/rotor column? I don't want to input a bunch of helicopter time on accident.

I did exactly that, and it wasn't an issue at all. One "Multi Piston" line with aircraft types, and one "Single Piston" line that just said "Various" because I've flown so many different ones. They didn't ask about it, and I was hired. |
