From what I understand, they don't even look at rec letters until you are selected to interview. I didn't upload any, just hand carried a few to the interview. Once selected to interview, current employees can do online recommendations for you through the company network. As soon as you get the invite, ask folks you know at the company to do the online rec.

Good luck!

Sorry to hit this one again, but on SWAPilotcredentials under the tab questions I see a line that states Instructor/evaluator time may be counted towards PIC. I am a 121 sim instructor for over two years and have never logged this time. Could I count this? How about sim check airmen evaluation time?

Thank you..

The reason they put this on there is primarily for military guys who can have lots of time in their logbook where they didn't sign for the plane but they are still acting as an instructor or evaluator. Yes, if you have instructor time in an airplane you can certainly count it, but sim time is just that...sim time.
By all means, put your time in the sim on your resume as it is great experience and something worth talking about, but it isn't flight time.

Piston Time

Here's another PilotCredentials question that's probably been asked but I can't find a answer to. Do I have a bunch of time in light piston aircraft. Does that go under the light piston/rotor column? I don't want to input a bunch of helicopter time on accident.

Yeah that's where it goes. There's a box to the far right that you put the actual aircraft type in, if you choose to break it down. I have tons of rotor time. I put my rotor time in there along with a separate entry for each of my FW light piston. So I have about 8 entries for light piston/rotor. And in the box on the right in each one it says the actual acft type.

Thanks for the reply Wolf. Faced with a lack of other options, I put all my light recip time in those boxes and specified aircraft type. I'm sure they run into this all the time.

Do you think it makes my app less likely to get pulled if I put just one entry for all my single recip time? I just put the different types in the box on the right separated by commas.

I did exactly that, and it wasn't an issue at all. One "Multi Piston" line with aircraft types, and one "Single Piston" line that just said "Various" because I've flown so many different ones.

They didn't ask about it, and I was hired.

Great to know. Thanks CA1900.
