Won't know unless you apply. But first you have to know that it's called Southwest, not South West. :D

Apply, cross all the 't's and dot all the 'i's. There were people in my class without a degree. It's not a deal breaker though it makes it a bit tougher.

Just do the application and let the process work. Keep up to date on the Pilot Credentials site.

Both SWA's application and Pilot Credentials must be complete and current, within the window which is still open for a few days. Just because you are up to date on one doesn't mean both are complete. Make sure both sites are current.

I didn't realize you had to do both. So I have the pilot credentials all filled out and completed. I now clicked the link to apply for the FO postition and it's asking me to login. I've never created a login I don't think and can't seem to find where to do that?

Disregard I figured it out. Application sent. Fingers crossed the only airline I have ever wanted to work for.

From what I understand, they don't even look at rec letters until you are selected to interview. I didn't upload any, just hand carried a few to the interview. Once selected to interview, current employees can do online recommendations for you through the company network. As soon as you get the invite, ask folks you know at the company to do the online rec.

Good luck!

What about when you put an employee referral in your application? Does that count for anything, or does the app get selected by the computer?

Doesn't affect the selection for interview. It will only be looked at after being selected for an interview.

Several people in other threads have mentioned adding references in Pilot Credentials, and the employee referral above. Is there still a part to do that? I'm not seeing it, only that you can upload a letter of recommendation.

The references and employee referral options become available after you're invited to interview. The upload function is the only thing available before that but, according to the company, uploading letters of rec won't have an impact on getting the invite. Letters and references aren't considered until the interview and decision board.

Thank you so much, that's very helpful.

There is a "how did you hear about this opening" on the questionnaire. You can put employees in that spot.
