Can anyone speak to note 3 about the regular plan? It says you may be required to pay amounts over the $2500 annual limit.

Thanks

If your provider charges you over the max allowed negotiated rate, you will pay the difference, even if you have already met the OOP max. As long as you are staying in UHC network, this shouldn’t be a problem at all.

We called our dr and they charge us like $110 for a well visit. Check out vaccines for kids...most local clinics charge very little or its free to people with no insurance or those who are underinsured (what the RP is since those aren’t covered).

Quote: For those with the Regular Plan and kids, how much do regular well visits run if paying out of pocket? What about vaccinations? We're done having kids and our youngest just turned 2, so I know I still have some vaccinations coming.

Ask your current provider what they charge for a “cash rate” or “no insurance” rate. They will generally charge what they get paid by the insurer which is much less than their billing rate. From what I have heard, a checkup generally runs in the $60 - $100 plus vaccines depending on your provider.
Also, don’t be afraid to explore other options for vaccinations including health departments.
There is a great Facebook page that touches on topics like these and many more.

I got on the Regular Plan in 1994 and note 3 was there then, and had been there before 1994. At the time General American (later called Great West) was the Administrator and they enforced Note 3 so that meant they would pay their share of the eligible charge and we had to pay whatever was left, which meant we would pay more than $2500. However in 2006 Blue Cross became the Administrator and they ignored Note 3, so when we reached $2500 our paying stopped. When UHC became the Administrator in 2013 they continued the Blue Cross policy. So since 2006 the precedent has been that Note 3 no longer applies.

Starting class soon and have a question...
I'm engaged, not married.
Can my fiancé get health coverage? Flight benefits? We live together and qualify as domestic partners and my current company recognized that. Just wondering what The SW policy happens to be. If anyone knows I'd appreciate the insight. Thanks!

Pass privileges and FMLA in the event they get sick, yes. Health and life insurance, no.
