FAR 61.23 shows the requirements.

Over 40 = 6 months for the privileges of a first class (I.e. PIC).

Either way, you will need a medical as an FO every 12 months.

As for the type, call them when in doubt.

If you are over 40, your 1st class reverts to a 2nd class after 6 months. So you are good for 12 months as an FO here at SWA. I will maintain a 2nd class until I upgrade. No need to risk the EKG unless you have to.
