I'd rather take a furlough than have the seniors take an 11.5% paycut on my behalf. I would just hope that when contract 2020 gets negotiated in 2030 the remaining pilots settle for nothing less than blistering pay rates at the most 'successful airline' in the history of airlines. If SWA is going to threaten to furlough than we need to be able to stack the cheddar during the good times (and not working 140tfp to get it).

“Doesn’t appear” - key words in your statement. I hope you’re right. History around here, though, is full of collusion, as the video from Herb in my post above demonstrates. I wouldn’t say that the fact we haven’t voted on a company offer yet is definitive proof of anything. Stay frosty.

At this point, it's all about face saving. Gary took ten percent from the non union employees. He needs to show that he got SOMETHING from the pilots that he can show everyone.

I think the company and the union will come to an agreement that basically gains nothing for both sides and prevents furloughs. Look at the dispatcher agreement for an example of a nothing burger that the company can notch their belt with.

Pilots (most of them) aren't idiots. We can see what is going on in the company and the industry and know that furloughs aren't going to happen.

I chose those words for a reason.

I am cautiously optimistic that we will not be sold out (again) by SWAPA in the near future, but I would not bet the farm on it.

I am willing to pay for my uniforms, how about parking I know they get it for free at the GO, but I am willing to do my part and pay for parking at my base . I am also willing to pay for some of my insurance and dental .

I'm willing to give them an interest free loan in the amount of the green bar, or exchange it for restricted stock units.

I completely understand their desire to minimize the green bars. If I were a business owner and I was paying someone to stay home, I would be forced to make tough decisions. With that in mind, I am willing to invest in the company provided there is a return on that investment.

By maintaining the ability to wave the "we've never furloughed" flag in our faces, they've saved way more over the years than what a 10% pay cut and force majeure clause would give them now. Even if they issue WARN notices with no intention of actually furloughing, from now until infinity future, there will be guys pulling out their phones and showing future new hires and koolies the pdf of the WARN notice they received back in 2020 or 2021 from the company they came to because it was supposedly the company with security that never furloughed.
I was hired in 1994 and even then I flew with Captains who still had the furlough letter that was signed by Herb
