Now there’s an extra airplane and crew sitting around. What to do with them?

We also have all these ramp agents and gate agents sitting around. Can we send them on a field trip... someplace they can drive to to work the flights?

Sure. Send the extra ONT folks to PSP
... MDW to ORD
... HOU to IAH
... ATL to SAV
... DEN to COS

Throw the extra airplane and crew on a hub turn (yes, we do) and the net additional flying is pretty much zero, and you’ve allocated resources that would’ve otherwise gone unused to try and make a little extra revenue. Not really “growth”, just more dots on the map.
true for now. But hopefully in the near future these new destinations will pull additional planes out of storage and pilots with them. Remember they dont open cities with the thoughts of only a few flights a day out of them. I thought 10 flights a day was the requirement for a new city
